10th WORLD FIREFIGHTER GAMES

2008 sees Liverpool host The 10th World Firefighter Games, running from 24th August until 2nd September.
Volunteers and team entries are still needed for all events, but we are looking especially for anyone interested in helping out in :

Beach 26-28th Aug - especially those who can help out with courts
Indoor 30-31 Aug - scorers and line judges required.

Please put a note in remarks box on registration form if you are interested in volleyball volunteering along with any skills you may have.

CHESTER FESTIVAL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

We are holding an adult 4-a-side tournament at Cheshire County Sports Club this year as well as the junior event.

Juniors on Saturday June 21st, adults on Sunday June 22nd.
Mens and Womens in the morning, mixed and 2-a-side in the afternoon.

MVL - DES JEFFERS MEN'S TOURNAMENT 2007/8

At Grange Road West S.C. (Birkenhead) on Sunday 20 APRIL 2008 (14.00 to 20.00)
PLEASE LET BRIAN KENDALL KNOW IF YOUR TEAM IS NOT COMING.

Teams Entered:
BRIDGEWATER DIAMONDS
E.P.V.I.C.
EP & CHESTER EELS
LIVERPOLE
ROYALS

Rules:
a.	Teams to provide referees & scorers when timetabled.
b.	1 Pool  - Each team plays every other team - No Final.
c.	All Matches - 2 Sets to 25 - 24 - (1 point per set won) OR TIMED MATCHES (to be decided on the day.
d.	No Toss - First named team serves from entrance side. 
e.	Points difference will decide tied positions at end of Pool.
f.	1 Time Out per Set per Team.
g.	No Time Outs or Substitutions in last 5 minutes of timed matches.

Entry Fee:
£20 per team, payable on the day.
(Cheques payable to ”Merseyside Volleyball League”)

PLEASE ARRIVE FOR 1.45 P.M.

MVL TOURNAMENTS

Tournaments are now both ON at GRANGE ROAD WEST SPORTS CENTRE, BIRKENHEAD.

Women provisionally 1 - 6 pm and Men 2 - 7 pm - times can be extended if more entries.
I will go ahead if we have 3 definite starters in each.

Men's Des Jeffers is £20 Entry Fee per team (in line with earlier Women's Des Jeffers Tournament.) Women's Tournament is free, in line with decision at Fixture Meeting that we would run an extra free women's tournament because of the smallness of the divisions - however, there would be a £20 fine if teams withdraw after a DEFINITE entry.

Teams to express interest are:
Men - Bridgewater, EPVIC, Halewood, Royals and the new Liverpool Polish Team.
Women - Sankey, Whitby, Bridgewater, Tameside Rubies and Wirral.

SO I NEED DEFINITE ENTRIES BY NEXT MONDAY 14TH. PLEASE.

If you are 1 or 2 players short, or if you are not entering but have individuals interested please let me know ASAP. Men's fees should be payable to "MERSEYSIDE VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE" and are payable on the 20th.
